Another moodboard caught my eye recently, and that was from Life.Paper.Scrapbook. This month it’s a bright board, incorporating the ever so popular brush script, watercolour and affirmations. Here’s what I came up with.
I think it ties in beautifully with LPS’s April moodboard image. Head on over to check out the awesome work from their Design Team and enter yourself!
I had several titles I wanted to use for this layout. A close contender being “Don’t look back, you’re not going that way”, but I realised that was more of a story for me rather than her, so I’ll save that for my personal art journal.
After I finished the layout I realised I didn’t even use any patterned paper! I’m not counting the affirmations, which I found online once upon a time – that is simply an image that I printed as 4×6″ twice to fill the height of the page. I have been leaning towards more of my own art and less paper these days. I am quite happy with how my watercolour chevrons turned out. I love how quickly watercolour paints can dry when you use them sparsely. With so many bright colours on the page, I felt I only had to accent with black. This then tied in the with affirmations strip.
Side note: How much are we adoring Amy Tangerine’s Kal Barteski Thickers?!?!!! I love love LOVE them! The small letters are my go-to Tim Holtz ones… they just suit every layout I do, no matter the theme/colour/tone.
Thanks for taking the time…
