As you may have noticed, I’ve taken a bit of a bloggy break. Although I won’t apologise – I’ve been living! And I can’t wait to update you all on the goings on at Creativity Lab LIVE! – to be honest, my head is still spinning from that experience. And when it comes around again, I hope I can do it all over then, too.
If I must be honest, last night was the first time I’d done anything scrappy in 2 weeks – finishing off that last project truly took it out of me for a bit – but 2-week-long projects of any kind tend to do that to me these days. But alas – here I am with a cute, girly project.
In actual fact, purple is probably the least featured colour in my scrap stash, but how could I go past the aqua? Ooooh it was just too yummy! Looking at these images led me straight to this photo from a friend’s high tea bridal shower. I didn’t have any photos of the delectable food, but the memory of the day is very well represented by Jot’s mood board.
Even without lots of purple in the stash, it’s surprising what you can find when you need it. The lavender bunches are represented by the raffia, and the tulle makes an appearance too – I so love texture. I also enjoy using symbols throughout my pages – 4 friends, 4 flags, 4 brads, 4 layers of paper under the photo. Sometimes it’s about the less-obvious things that just ‘finish’ a layout, don’t you think?
These soft colours were a perfect match for the Dear Lizzy palette, so I paired one of her mason jars with some chunky Doodlebug glitter – don’t you think this just looks magical?
Now that I’m back in the saddle, let’s see what other magic I can work … I’d love to see yours too, so feel free to link it up!
