Tackling the big question

Journey   /

QandA last week finished with such a cool question being asked of the panel (full of scientists, mathematicians and musicians)… “what is the purpose of life?” This is definitely one of the big questions I’ve been asking seriously of myself the past few years. I believe the answer is different for every single person, although many panelists summed it up quite nicely “to be good people, to help each other” etc. And yet here we are, surrounded by so much pain in the rat race, we are so quick to bring down the people around us. I don’t perceive many people think or feel before they act on many occasions… perhaps as a human reaction to protect our own hearts or pride? In saying that, I am human. I am not excluded from this statement, and I’ll openly admit it. But I believe that by recognising it, I have the power to overcome my ego, or at least master it and learn how to use it for the benefit of everyone, including myself.

So my simple answer to “what is the purpose of life?” is “to evolve”. To become a better person every day. To actively work towards finding who I am, and what I am here to do, then actually doing it, being it.

By “better” person, I mean

more kind,

more educated,

more creative,

more wise,

more loving.

It is my belief that if we could all work on doing that ourselves, and helping each other with the same, we will all evolve more rapidly, and in the direction I truly feel we all want to. One team, one dream.
